Los hilos del pasado

Focused on preparing for his trip and beginning a life dedicated to religion, Salvador meets Carolina, a young and cheerful seamstress who, upon seeing him, shows obvious love. After a brief conversation, the two share a long-held affection. Later, at dinner, to say goodbye to his friends and begin a spiritual retreat, Salvador meets Carolina again. This time, they both surrender to their passion, never imagining that María Luisa would almost find them together. Excited about the new life she's experiencing, Carolina visits Salvador's house hoping to tell him they're expecting a child. However, María Luisa refuses to tell him where she is and explodes with rage upon learning that the young woman is pregnant with his child. Upon arriving in the city, Carolina finds it extremely difficult to give her daughter what she so desperately needs. In the midst of a stormy night, desperation forces her to leave her little girl in a house far from her care.

After being forced to leave her daughter in a group home and ending up hospitalized, Carolina rushed from the clinic in search of her little girl. Unfortunately for her, she received devastating news that made her vow never to touch her heart with anyone. With a painful past, Cristina grew up in a foster home where she dreamed of becoming a famous model and working for the renowned Carolina Guillén. During the presentation of Carolina's new clothing line, Carlos had the opportunity to speak with a prominent businesswoman. When he broke the news to his mother that her designs would be available in a prominent New York store, she was overjoyed. Moments before a benefit for the foster home where Cristina grew up, Carlos had a moment of confusion filled with love. Carolina's son thinks the young woman is the new model they've been waiting for.

While Cristina was desperately searching for a bouquet of white flowers for Carolina, Manuel mistook her for a saleswoman. The young woman corrected him and, thanks to her charisma, won the music producer's affection. Desperate to arrive with the bouquet she had ordered for Carolina's event, Cristina arrived excitedly before the prestigious designer. However, she behaved rudely and offensively toward her great admirer. After the heated encounter with Carolina, in which she felt offended, Cristina expressed her deep disappointment. Now, the admiration she felt for the designer had turned to sadness. After losing her purse, Cristina received an unexpected visit at her home from Manuel, who delivered it to her. Upon learning that Carolina had been rude to her, the producer offered the young woman another chance to meet his wife.

After the incident with Carolina, Cristina was deeply disappointed in her. However, Manuel made it his mission to convince her that his wife was different and give her the opportunity to truly get to know her. Amid the launch of her new clothing line, Carolina contacted the detective she'd hired to find her lost daughter in Europe. However, the designer didn't receive good news. Thanks to Cristina and Marisol, Lorena attended the major music event organized by Manuel. Upon seeing the producer in person, the young woman was enchanted and made that clear from the very first moment. Despite Manuel explaining the importance of the music event he was presenting, Carolina completely forgot. Upset with her husband, the designer arrived late to the event and discovered Manuel's great disappointment.

Deeply hurt by the feeling that Carolina was not interested in his affairs, Manuel expressed his disappointment. The next day, the music producer seemed cold and distant with his wife. At Manuel's request, Cristina went to Carolina's house to get to know her better. She told her personally about her big dream of becoming a model, but only received a painful response. Wanting to make amends for her mistakes, Carolina waited in her room for Manuel to spend the night together. However, a phone call from Lorena interrupted the moment, arousing suspicion and jealousy. Saddened by Carolina's treatment, Cristina left the office devastated. Unexpectedly, Carlos appeared to offer his support, as the flame of love began to rekindle.

Amid Carolina's arduous preparation for Cristina to become a model, the young woman made it clear to the designer that she had no family, as she was an orphan. After many years without seeing her since she was a child, Salvador was delighted to meet Cristina again. Unaware that they shared blood, the two shared what had happened in their lives. After the unexpected encounters he had with Cristina, Carlos can't stop thinking about her. Carolina's stepson feels a special connection with the young woman and longs to see her again. Upon finding her daughter at home, in her boyfriend's arms, Carolina exploded with fury. Faced with the designer's reaction, Manuel demanded to know the reason, but she didn't dare reveal the pain she felt for the girl she had abandoned in the past.

Charmed by Ricardo's presence, Marisol accepted her mother's proposal to go to the movies. However, the paramedic's mood plummeted, and he chose not to go. Excited about Lorena's transformation, Cristina arrived for another day of modeling preparation. However, Carolina was furious upon seeing her altered appearance and, in the face of yet another argument, slapped her. Besides the problems at home, Carolina couldn't help but feel sad about the pain of the past. The designer also remembered the terrible damage Ramiro had caused her life. Devastated by her daughter's absence and the problems at home, Carolina went to church to vent, unaware that Salvador was the priest.

Carolina explains the agency's rules to Cristina, but Carlos's unexpected arrival interrupts the conversation, and Cristina discovers he is Carolina's son. Upon learning of Cristina's dismissal, Carolina goes to her house to convince her that she is making a grave mistake and to show that she is the person capable of driving her to achieve her goals. Due to the mistreatment she has received, Cristina is determined to confront Carolina and resign. Carlos invites Cristina to a restaurant for their first date, where they will prepare the food themselves. Together, they create a romantic moment.

Carolina introduces Carlos to the new model she's hired, which is a huge surprise for Cristina and Carlos. After discovering that Carlos is Carolina's son, Cristina asks them to end their friendship and any previous relationship to avoid future problems at work. After a long time, Tamara returns to Carlos's life. His old relationship will once again put his life at risk, leading him to a major crossroads. After Omar's dinner with Romina's family, Ramiro wants to know how long it will be before he can show up at Carolina's house, as his goal is to see her in person.

Carolina is overjoyed at Tamara's return to Mexico and hopes she will be reunited with her son, Carlos. Carlos meets with Tamara to end their relationship, believing it ended the moment she decided to leave Mexico. Manuel is intrigued by Lorena's intentions, who showed up at the exhibition to greet Carolina with great enthusiasm. María Luisa appears in Carolina's office to ask her to stay away from her son, but this time Carolina is not intimidated by his words.

Carolina, after the intense conversation she had with María Luisa, is more determined than ever to find her daughter. After Carolina's revelation to María Luisa, she launches a private investigation to find out if it's true that her granddaughter is estranged from her, as Carolina claimed. Manuel is determined to give Carolina the space she needs, convinced that this will be the best thing for their relationship. Carlos can't stand the distance Cristina has imposed on their relationship and is now determined to show her that they belong together.

Tamara insists on continuing her relationship with Carlos, even though he has made it clear he no longer wants to, despite his firm comments on the matter. Manuel explodes with fury at Carolina for prioritizing work over her family, demanding that she find balance in her life. Father Salvador discovers that Cristina's boss is Carolina Guillén and is shocked by Cristina's description of her, describing her as a very harsh person. Despite Tamara's efforts to maintain Carlos's love, she appears to harbor a secret connection with Leonardo, admitting that their past experiences led her to decide to leave Mexico.

Lorena insists on making Manuel see that she could be a good option for him to date, even though she knows he's going through marital problems. However, Manuel makes it clear that he doesn't intend to end the relationship with his wife. Carolina makes it clear to Manuel that she won't allow any kind of betrayal in the relationship, but he's surprised to discover that it's not a crazy idea to him. Tony approaches Cristina to open her eyes about Carlos. He confesses that he's not someone she should date, as he's known for being with too many women and will only end up hurting her. Knowing Carlos's personality from Tony's comments, she decides to end the relationship she was starting with him, making it clear that she won't be another girl he hurts.

Leonardo sows intrigue in Carolina about her relationship with Manuel, insinuating that several women are seeking him out and that he is secretly seeing one of them. Cristina opens up to Father Salvador to express her regrets about her relationship with Carlos and what is being said about him, fearing that she will become just another person in his life. Salvador confesses to his mother that he has been accepted by the Vatican to serve there, which fills her with joy, despite her illness. Carolina expresses her jealousy and doubts to Manuel to find out what kind of relationship he has with Cristina, all following Leonardo's previous comments about her.

Due to Carolina and Manuel's ongoing relationship problems, where trust is deteriorating, Carolina asks Manuel to reflect on what he truly wants while she is away on business. María Luisa's health is critical, leaving Father Salvador deeply concerned for his mother. His anguish increases when he discovers that she harbors guilt and refuses to leave with him. Carolina is angry with Cristina and Carlos because they neglected the meeting she called and, by arriving late, delayed her plans. Cristina revealed that the outfit she wore during the photo shoot was not in proper condition, deeply shocking Carolina upon receiving the news.

Carlos expresses his immense love for Cristina, and during their trip to Miami, their bond grows even stronger. Elena congratulates Cristina on resolving the dress issue, emphasizing that Carolina feels the same way, though she prefers to remain silent. After Salvador's insistence, María Luisa finally reveals that she had a daughter with Carolina before he entered the seminary. After much insistence from his son Omar, Ramiro manages to enter Carolina's house, but only on the condition that he meet Manuel.

Salvador confronts his mother for hiding the truth about the daughter he had with Carolina, expressing his disappointment with the secret she kept from him. Cristina is furious with Carlos for the disappointment she caused him when she saw him kissing his girlfriend, Tamara, thus confirming what everyone was saying about him. Manuel expresses his dissatisfaction with Carolina, feeling that their marriage has become a series of constant arguments and that they are no longer the couple he believed they were. Salvador approaches Carolina to find out the truth about what happened to the daughter they had together.

Salvador goes to Carolina to learn more about her past and discover what led her to abandon the daughter they had together. Carolina, after confronting the weight of her past by sharing what happened the day she abandoned her daughter, finds in Salvador a promise to be with her and bear the pain she's carried for so many years, to support her in her search for her daughter. After the difficult times Manuel and Carolina's marriage is going through, their son Carlos advises his father on how to deal with this pain and help them return to the close couple they once were. Salvador goes to his mother, María Luisa, after clearing things up with Carolina, to reprimand her for how unfair it was for her to control his life and not allow him to be with Carolina and the baby they had.

Carolina is thrilled to learn that Salvador is willing to do anything to find her daughter and do so by her side, which gives her hope that the discovery will happen. Tamara is determined to find out who the model Carlos is dating is, so she begins investigating the people who work with Carolina. Carlos confesses to Carolina that he is in love with a mysterious girl, making it clear that he no longer wants anything to do with Tamara and ending the matter. Salvador remains angry with his mother, María Luisa, for the secrets she kept from him. However, he makes it clear that he will begin the search for his daughter with Carolina.

After a heated argument, Manuel expresses his feelings that Carolina is putting her work before her family, which makes him feel displaced by her. Salvador finds his mother motionless on the floor of the house, lifeless, deeply saddened by their argument. After Omar's constant questions about Carolina's past, Romina realizes she knows little about her mother and is now curious to know her better. Carlos insists to Cristina that he wants another chance with her, trying to make her understand that he is in love with her and that his relationship with Tamara is nothing but a mess.

Carlos is determined to show Cristina that she can trust him and that his love for her is genuine. Through Manuel's carelessness, Carolina finds a receipt for a purchase he made. This discovery leads her to suspect that Manuel may be hiding something from her. Salvador mourns the loss of his mother and carries a deep sense of guilt for not granting her the forgiveness she so desperately begged for. After remembering that Manuel bought shoes for a stranger, Carolina connects the dots when she discovers that Cristina owns suspiciously expensive shoes.

Salvador apologizes for changing his mind and not going to the Vatican, explaining that he has a new mission: finding a girl, which keeps him completely focused on her. At Romina's party, Omar brings his father, Ramiro, with the goal of impressing Carolina, which is exactly what Ramiro expected: to leave her perplexed. Ramiro makes it clear that his goal at Romina's party is to talk to Carolina and that if he doesn't succeed, he won't leave. Carolina confronts Ramiro to find out what he plans for her daughter's party, suspecting that the relationship between Romina and Omar has always been part of his plan.

Cristina shows jealousy towards Tamara when she sees her at Romina's party with Carlos, making it clear that she doesn't like them seeing or talking to each other anymore. Ramiro goes to Carolina's office to tell her that his goal is to obtain half of her fortune, or he will reveal the truth about his past to the family. Carlos worries when he sees his mother immersed in sadness and stress. Despite his attempts to find out what's happening to her, Carolina refuses to share what's bothering her. After Lorena's insistence, Manuel agrees to go out for coffee with her, even though he already wants to distance himself. However, Tamara surprises them when she sees them in a very peculiar embrace.

After a meeting between Carolina and Salvador, she decides to confess the problem she's having with Ramiro. Salvador offers his support and, at the same time, reveals that he still thinks about the life they could have had together. After Cristina gives Carlos a second chance in their relationship, he makes it clear he's serious about her, giving her a promise ring and swearing it's the most important thing he has. After Romina insists she doesn't want to end her relationship with her boyfriend Omar, despite Carolina's demands, Romina threatens to leave home if they don't let her continue their relationship. In a recent effort by Carlos to show Cristina he's serious about their relationship, he gives her a fidelity ring. She can't hide her excitement and shows it to Tony, who receives the news with joy, seeing Cristina's happiness.

Carlos suspects that the problems at home, especially between his parents, are due to his father seeing another woman, leaving Manuel dismayed by the accusation. Ramiro reappears at Carolina's house to "support" his son after she refused to allow them to continue their relationship. This leaves Carolina furious at the lack of support she receives from her family. Manuel is dismayed by Carolina's irritation, who doesn't want Romina to continue her relationship with Omar. Carolina emphasizes that she doesn't want Ramiro to return home, but without offering any justification for her anger. Ramiro persists in his threats against Carolina to obtain part of the fortune she has built, threatening not only to reveal her secrets but also to implicate her daughter, Romina.

Faced with the intense stress Carolina faces due to Ramiro's demands, Elena is convinced that the best way to resolve everything is to have Manuel by her side and confess the truth about her past. In the first days of searching for his daughter, Salvador receives good news from Don Señor: they've found two young men who meet his criteria. After a sensational day, Cristina decides to invite Carlos to her room to culminate what she considers the best day of her life, feeling as if she's finally living her dreams. Tony, upon discovering Carlos sneaking out of Cristina's room, confronts him and gives him an ultimatum, saying he's not allowed to break Cristina's heart, or he'll have to deal with him.

Cristina's friends say she looks very happy, and she confesses that she spent the night with Carlos. Carolina and Manuel are having a good time as a couple, and it fills her with creativity. Ramiro's plans are jeopardized by Omar.
